BioFor nearly eight years, I was employed as a "franchise development" person nominally affiliated with Microsoft/Microsoft Game Studios. I've written dialogue that has appeared in titles from the not-so-good Allegiance, to the better-but-not-terribly-successful Crimson Skies to this little game you may have heard of, called Halo.
I've written prose fiction and non-fiction (a Crimson Skies novella and a non-fiction "Art of" book, The Art of Halo.)
As of 5 September 2006, I am once again a full-time freelance writer, and aspiring novelist. I'm a newly-minted writer of comic books. My first honest-to-God comic book -- a comic series based on the Perfect Dark franchise, six issues titled "Perfect Dark: Janus's Tears") debuted in August with minimal publicity, but I hope to springboard from this work into more mainstream comics work, as well as self-publishing my own comics in the near future.
I also used to work in the print roleplaying game field, but it's long enough in my past that it's probably not worth talking about (except to say that I was a former West End Games employee, at the tail end of the company's "illustrious" period -- before it became the shambling, reanimated horror show lurching drunkenly through the hobby retail space). During that time I wrote/contributed to/edited/graphic designed/or otherwise had my hand in something like 40+ books.
Some of them don't suck.
I love cake.
Not as much as I love my wife, of course. She's awesome.
